3. Cheryl Wee
Cheryl Wee is an upcoming fresh face for Channel 5, having starred as one of the lead roles in the popular drama Mata Mata despite having barely any acting experience. Acting alongside fresh faces to Channel 5 such as Suria actress Nadiah M. Din, and Malaysian artist Daniella Sya, Cheryl’s acting stint was one which producers said showed "immense potential" during auditions despite being new to Channel 5. Mata Mata counts among one of the locally produced English dramas that have started including and casting more newcomers to appeal to viewers in the same age group.
